Day Permit
Athletes who wish to compete only at ONE Member Games during the Season may apply for a Day Permit. This should be done on the day at that event and may not be done online. The cost is £5 for an Adult / FREE for a Youth.
As its name suggests, it may only be done on ONE occasion, per season. This is NOT registration with the RSHGA, does NOT provide personal insurance cover and NO points will be awarded for the Leagues, if placed in any events at that meeting.
The cost is £5 for an Adult / FREE for a Youth - please bring the correct money in cash (£5)
Athletics
All Athletes must compete IN AGE – it is not possible for youth athletes to compete in adult events
Youth: aged 12-15
Adults: 16 and over
Heavy Events
Caber, Weight Over Bar, Hammer/Heavy Hammer, Weight for Distance, Shot / Heavy Shot
All competitors in Heavy Events at RSHGA Members Games must appear and compete
whilst wearing a kilt, plain-coloured kilt hose/socks and flashes. The wearing of brightly / multi-coloured socks is discouraged.
In the RSHGA Youth Heavyweight League, the minimum age will be 12 years of age and the maximum will be 17 years of age. Having started to compete in the league before reaching their 18th birthday, a registered youth may continue to participate in the leaguefor the remainder of the season.
In the interests of safety, the Judge has the right to disqualify any competitor who does not come up to the required standard in any of the heavy events. Only competent athletes can take part, the Judge at the event will assess athletes wishing to compete and decide whether they are allowed to participate.
If you have not competed in Heavy events before, you need to demonstrate competency in related sports (ie shot putt/throwing events) and what PB’s you have. This will be discussed, and therefore participation on the day is entirely at the discretion of the Judge. Without prior experience, you may be limited to a smaller number of events that can be undertaken safely with supervision. It is worth noting that we cannot guarantee that any participant is allowed to take part if the Judge feels it would not be safe to do so.
Clean Sports
RSHGA is committed to clean sport: it is a condition of registration that athletes agree to comply with anti-doping rules and participate in testing if requested. Registration fees help support athlete services including the league prize fund of over £2,000 and free personal accident insurance.
